What do seemingly abandoned castles/space stations (Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Dead Space, Alien) and inescapable forests (Gerald's Game, Slender, Blair Witch) have in common? This book was a quick read only taking about a week reading a half hour or so at a time in the evening before bed. After looking for King's books in the internet, I was intrigued by Gerald's Game's premise: a woman handcuffed half naked in a bed and due to some unforeseen circumstances, she was left all alone . As far as I can remember, Gerald's Game is has the first sole female heroine of any of King's books since Carrie. As a storyteller, King initially seems once again at the top of his form. Are they the die-hard, read-everything-King-writes readers who delight in the author's change-of-pace books such as Gerald's Game or The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon or Dolores Claiborne? Stephen King attacks Gerald's Game from two distinct angles, the story angle and the message angle. If you want a fun, easy to use, and varied computer pool game, you must give this one a shot!
